About TIPS

TIPS is a not-for-profit with the mandate to communicate successes in science and global health. We do this through our free-to-access platforms: the open-access TIPS Journal, the TIPS Master Series, TIPS Interviews and the TIPS Science to Market® program.

One person can make a difference, and everyone should try.

The TIPS Journal

The open-access TIPS Journal (InfectionControl.tips, ISSN 2369-7342) was launched on November 15, 2015, on the eve of World Antibiotic Awareness Week. It met the call to action by Dr. Margaret Chan, Director-General of the World Health Organization:

“…The World Economic Forum has identified antibiotic resistance as a global risk beyond the capacity of any one organization or nation to manage or mitigate alone…”

In addressing this concern to the G7 Health Ministers on October 8, 2015, Dr. Chan concluded her statements with the following observation:

“…Consumer groups and civil society can play an important role in combating antimicrobial resistance. They are important movers, shakers, and front-line players, especially in this age of social media…”

Therein lies the value of the TIPS Journal: the global platform we use to communicate these successes. It is free to read, for everyone.
